five variations in the volume of space between two rose petals, 2008
dynamic digital model, dimensions variable

five variations in the volume of space between two rose petals explores methods for virtually and physically modeling dynamic qualitative spaces in natural systems. this work is a continuation of concepts explored in peripeteia; however, instead of observing a rigid form through time (a dry leaf), the subject is a living rose observed over several days. the evolving spaces in the model are meant to draw the viewer into a fluid, emotional space.

maya was used for the 4d modeling.

qualitative spaces studies and drawings, 2008
digital photograph / charcoal and pencil on paper

these works explore the qualitaties of spatial relationships by abstracting typical geometric references. these drawings are a continuation of peripeteia's volume studies, and are the precursor to the shoreline equivalent drawings and interactive installation.
